About Juliska

Description

As newlyweds and unabashed romantics, Capucine & David Gooding founded Juliska in 2001 with a small collection of mouth-blown Bohemian glasses. Today, Juliska makes hundreds of products for the table and home for you, the architects of togetherness.

Juliska’s Portuguese stoneware ceramics are crafted with an artisanal production process, which includes a variety of exquisite transparent, opaque, and metallic glazes on a tough Portuguese stoneware body. All are lead free and are durable enough to handle demanding everyday use. Dishwasher, freezer, and microwave safe. Oven safe up to 500 degrees unless otherwise noted.

While not common, metal trail markings do periodically occur on a stoneware surface over time dependent on your flatware. These marks are not scratches, but steel residue on top of the glaze left by stainless steel flatware. Should you wish to remove these markings, Juliska recommends a product called “Bar Keepers Friend.” This product has been tested and proven to be effective.

Juliska recommends stowing dishes with dish liners to avoid scratches. It is also recommended to keep stacking to a minimum to reduce undue stress on the items.

Juliska is delighted to offer mouth-blown or hand pressed glass designs with a focus on versatile style and everyday durability. Each has its own individual character – small bubbles, slight color and size variations will appear. Juliska glass is lead-free.

Juliska celebrates the soulfulness of handmade imperfections. In harmony with essential quality control standards, a bump here or an extra wash of glaze there are signatures that allow reveling in the human craft. With a story behind each piece, no two Juliska products are identical and are particularly prominent in their storied glassware.
